Ince Rose Bridge FC
A brand new chapter in the history of Ince Rose Bridge Sports & Community Club. For the first time ever, football has arrived at The Bridge.
A Club That Never Stands Still
Since 1926, Ince Rose Bridge has been built on one simple idea — sport for everyone. What started as a single rugby league team has grown into one of the most inclusive grassroots clubs in Greater Manchester. Open age, juniors, girls, masters, LDRL, darts and dominoes. Every section born from the same belief that sport should be accessible to all.
Now, for the first time in the club's history, we're adding football to the family. Not as an afterthought — but as a new pillar of the club, built with the same ambition and community spirit that has defined everything we do.
The plan is to develop multiple age groups across youth and senior football, giving players at every level a pathway and a home. From grassroots juniors learning the game for the first time, through to competitive adult teams representing Ince on matchdays.
"This club has always been about more than one sport. Football is the next step in a journey that's been nearly 100 years in the making."Ince Rose Bridge Sports & Community Club
Something That's Never Been Done
In nearly a century of existence, Ince Rose Bridge has never had a football section. Rugby league has always been in the blood — and it still is. But the demand from the community has been clear. People want football at The Bridge.
This isn't about replacing what we have. It's about adding to it. Growing the family. Giving more people in Ince and the surrounding areas a reason to walk through the gates and be part of something.
The launch of Ince Rose Bridge FC marks a historic moment for the club — and for the community. A new crest. A new identity within the club. A new set of teams carrying the red and black onto the football pitch for the very first time.
A New Home for a Growing Club
The timing couldn't be better. Ince Rose Bridge has recently secured Imperial Field — the former Rose Bridge School playing fields — as the club's new home. Over five times larger than the current site at Pinfold Street, the new ground gives us the space to grow into the club this community deserves.
More pitches. Better facilities. Room for every team — rugby and football — to train and play without compromise. Grant funding has been confirmed through the FA Home Advantage Project and the Pride in Place Impact Fund to support the development.
Ince Rose Bridge FC won't just be another team. It will be part of a multi-sport community hub that gives people of all ages, all backgrounds, and all abilities a place to belong. The Bridge is growing — and this is just the start.
