BIG UPDATE FOR INCE ROSE BRIDGE SPORTS AND COMMUNITY CLUB ![]()
We’re delighted to share that full funding is now in place and we are entering the final stages of delivering the transformation of Imperial Fields into a multi-sport community hub for rugby and football.
This project has taken five years of hard work, planning, and partnership, working closely with Wigan Council, Dean’s Trust Rose Bridge, The FA, Football Foundation, Lancashire FA, solicitors Muckle, and many other key partners to get us to this point.
A huge thank you to everyone involved — including Cllr David Molyneux, Lisa Nandy MP, council officers, FA partners, and our internal team of Mark Hilton (FA), Mark Alder, Dean Kenny, Chris Parr, Sam Rowson, Ken Talbot, Kath Alder, and Jake Howard.
Special mention also to Ciaran McGreal, who has led the FA Home Advantage Programme work and supported the project throughout, and to Michael Fishwick (Head of Greenspaces, Wigan Council) — no more weekly phone calls from us now, Michael! ![]()
We’d also like to recognise the support of Muckle Solicitors, who have guided us through establishing our charity status, limited trading company structure, constitution, and finalising the lease for the field — helping secure the long-term future of the club.
Our trustees — Phil Clarke, Jodi Tuson, and Mike Wallace — have been instrumental in enabling us to put a proper governance structure in place and strengthen the foundations of the organisation.
Now we move into delivery — creating a lasting home for sport, wellbeing, and community in Ince for generations to come
We’re also keen to hear from local businesses who want to support and be part of this exciting regeneration.
