Major Milestone Achieved: New Site Secured for Ince Rose Bridge Sports and Community Club
We are proud to share a landmark moment in the history of Ince Rose Bridge Sports and Community Club.
After more than six years of dedication, planning, and hard work, we have officially secured a new site that will shape the future of our club for generations to come. This journey has involved extensive meetings, detailed applications, and a significant commitment from those working behind the scenes to bring the IMP project to life.
On 25th March 2025, confirmation was received that the lease for the new site—located at Rose Bridge School and known as the Imperial Field—had been fully approved by all parties. The site is over five times larger than our current home on Pinfold Street, marking a huge step forward in our ambitions to grow and develop.
The news was formally confirmed by David Molyneux, with a press release subsequently issued by Wigan Council, placing this achievement firmly in the public domain. We wanted to ensure that our club community heard this news first, recognising the importance of this moment for everyone connected to Ince Rose Bridge.
This has been an emotional and challenging journey. Throughout the process, there have been doubts and speculation, but those involved remained focused and committed, understanding the scale of the work required. We deliberately avoided setting fixed timelines publicly to ensure the process could be completed properly without unnecessary pressure or noise.
We are also delighted to confirm that funding has been successfully secured to support the development of the new site. This includes investment from the FA Home Advantage Project and the Pride in Place Impact Fund.
With the lease now secured and funding in place, attention turns to the next phase. Over the coming months, we will begin detailed planning and move towards delivering the development of the Imperial Field.
This is a significant step forward and an exciting new chapter for Ince Rose Bridge Sports and Community Club. We thank everyone who has supported us on this journey so far and look forward to sharing further updates as the project progresses.
